50’s back in fashion

The big names of the designer world are showing a strong preference to the looks of the fifties in their new ranges according to Vogue.co.uk.  This dress here from Louis Vuitton’s latest Autumn / Winter 2010-2011 collection is representative of a theme.

The look according to Vogue is for tiny waists, full hips and either buttons up to the neck, or low displaying the bust.  Models are completing the look with little 50’s style purses and gloves up to the elbows.

It is not just Louis Vuitton either, other 50’s inspired clothing has been seen on the catwalks of many designers including Dries Van Noten, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Loewe, Fendi and Luisa Beccaria.
