Gloves fashion coming back

September 29, 2010

Back in the 1950’s gloves completed the woman’s look and were worn daily.  Without your gloves, you were not fully dressed. The glove phase continued from the 50’s through to the 60’s as a fashion accessory and it appears that now in 2010 we are seeing the trend return on the catwalks for Autumn and Winter.

Of course the glove is more than an accessory and in the cooler parts of the world, they are a necessity over winter to keep fingers warm and dry, but even so their use on the catwalks suggests that this winter you may need to find a pair or two to accessorise your attire.  The most popular seems to be of the soft leather and suede variety from just beyond the wrist up to the elbow in length.  For colours stick to winter colours, deep blues, mulberry and crimsons along with black and metallics.
