Veils for a 50s Wedding

November 13, 2010

A classic look for a 50's wedding, introducing the birdcage veil

Today I thought I would see what I could find in the way of veils for a 50’s style wedding.  I have in mind a Birdcage Veil similar to this one this one by photography company Pat B Photography Studios.  It is a STUNNING photo and gives a great idea for how to veil up for your big day 50’s style.

So what is a Birdcage Veil?

The birdcage veil is known by several names including a cage veil and a Russian tulle veil and is a circular shaped short veil with a wide spaced netting.

The birdcage veil is a vintage look that is very flattering and romantic, and after you have finished your ceremony you simply throw the netting back over your hair, creating a birdcage ‘pouf’.

You can of course personalise your birdcage veil using different colour accents in the head piece, including feathers, beads and diamonties.

So hopefully my post inspires you from the big flower look first, to the minimal look (third), then for something edgy and different why not bronze like one directly above, or a beautiful blue feather visor birdcage veil like this one here to the right.
