Upcoming trends – Bold is beautiful

December 9, 2010

Don’t throw away your vintage attire, this trend is going to go the distance, however there will be variations on the theme and the latest is ‘bold’ according to Vogue Australia.  That is adding a touch of ‘boldness’ whether that be design or colour to your latest look will help you keep it hot and fashionable.

Here are my vintage picks of their collection, let them inspire you, then get into Covelli, as the cost of these little beauties will make you perspire!

1. Bold patterns such as these Rochas Brocade Pants.  I love the subtle vintage colours, but on a pant they would certainly make a bold statement.  They are $1,145 from Lands End.

2. Use Stones – we have seen jewels, stones and other embellishments on jumpers, jackets and t-shirts over the last few seasons, well it is now time to put them somewhere else, like on your shoes!  These ones are from Alexander McQueen and are $4,200.

3. Vintage Glasses are still so now, but choose glasses with a touch of retro colour.  If you are trying to go for a more older 40s or 50s look, then use stones or bling on your glasses instead of too much colour to save clashing your eras too much!  These Louis Vuitton Glasses are $950, and there is no doubt, you would create a statement in them!

4. Glitz it Up – Yellow Gold is the colour to go for when accessorizing, make it bright, big and sparkly.  This can be hard to achieve if going for a vintage look, but you can always achieve it with gold accessories such as a clutch, belt, brooch or shoes!  This gold sparkly clutch is from Jimmy Choo and is $825.

5. A Softer Tiger – If you feel the need to growl, you still can let your inner tiger, leopard or lion out this year.  The print is a little softer than it first was and is more in keeping with the golds and tans that are also popular.

Whatever you wear this summer, just wear it well 🙂
