1950’s Wedding Dress Inspiration

December 14, 2010

It has been a while since I have done a Fifties style wedding guide, so today I thought I would share with you some of my latest favourite 1950’s style wedding dresses!  These weddings were all held relatively recently (2010) from around the world, so hopefully provide you with a bit of an idea file!  If you are not getting married anytime soon, or are already married you can just enjoy the stunning photography!

This first image is from The 50s Wedding Blog and showcases how much fun you can have with a 50s wedding dress when you layer it!  The other thing I adore about the 50s style is you can simply add colour as shown here, and in addition to shoes and belt, you could also add a flower in your hair.

Not a blog but a great source of vintage inspiration no matter the decade you are after is The Frock.  This shop has so many stunning vintage dresses.  Here are two of my favourite.  The one to the left is a Hattie Carnegie ivory satin gown with spaghetti strapped jeweled sweetheart bodice.  The one on the right is

Here Love My Dress Blog shows how you can create a statement wearing a shawl, cape or mini jacket.  This bride arrived for her wedding in her Combivan, how cool is that.  The other thing I love about this image is the bridesmaid dresses, they are just stunning!

And last, but certainly not least is one from Ruffled Blog, this is not so much an image of the dress but an example in the perfect way to accessorize your wedding look.
