London Fashion Week

February 16, 2012

The London Fashion Week is once again coming up. The London Fashion Week is a festivity celebrating high-class fashion and apparel trade which happens two times in a year, usually on September and February. This fashion week is one of the four biggest fashion weeks being held, namely New York Fashion week, Milan Fashion week and Paris Fashion week.

Just a glimpse of how the London Fashion week ever started, well, it first was held on the year 1984. It was organized by the British Fashion Council (BFC) for London Development Agency with help from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills.

5,000 members of the press and buyers come to watch the spectacular London Fashion week. Orders for different apparels add up to £100M, now, that’s a huge amount, isn’t it?

The events on the schedule usually take place in Somerset House located in Central London. Catwalk shows are being hosted in the central courtyard which showcases works of brilliant, top designers and fashion houses. Also, an exhibit of the marvellous designs made by over 150 designers can be visited and viewed by spectators inside the Somerset house.

During the London Fashion week, not only the designers but also the spectators for the event see to it that they are wearing clothing with style which shouts high-fashion. This does not necessarily mean that you have to wear what is in and what is in the trend, but rather, keep in mind that anything goes.

Yes, it’s true. It’s not easy to be an eye-catcher with all the fashion people around you, so what’s better to wear than an outfit made by a British-based designer, right? Work on some dark-colored sunglasses (well, that depends on the weather) with it and for sure, you will fit in the London Fashion week.
