As the cold winds drifts, one finds the warmth of a new winter coat a welcome retreat. A winter coat usually represents a larger investment than any other clothing. It does not only keep you warm, also, it adds beauty that brings out your style as it appears now in different fabrics, color, textures and styles.

So, to keep you toasty when the temperatures turn frosty, here are some tips on how to pick a winter coat.

First, have knowledge on the fabrics that you would be buying. The best fabrics to keep you warm are wool and cashmere. It will breathe while helping you retain your own body heat.  A below the knee, fitted, single-breasted wool winter coat will work with pants and skirts on a variety of occasions.

Second, choose the right winter coat that fits your body. To find the right fit, simply go up one size over your typical suit jacket size. The shoulder seams themselves should fall just over the edge of your natural shoulder. However, not all coats follow the same measurement dimensions. But don’t just slip the coat on: find a chair and sit down while wearing the coat; raise your arms; bend down like your picking up something. You’ll be wearing this new coat in a variety of situations and occasions and you need to give it a real test drive before buying it.

Lastly, the trendy styles that will make your winter the perfect season ever! Be wary of styles that are over-the-top. Truly, coats can be a fashion statement in themselves.
